Georgia Southern celebrates second annual Holi Festival

Georgia Southern will once again celebrate the spring season at the second annual Holi Festival on March 24, 6-8 p.m. in front of the University Store and Dining Commons. Participants will smeared and sprinkled in colors while enjoying live music and dancing. In addition, Dining Commons will serve Indian cuisine in celebration of the event.

Tickets for Leadership Lecture Series distributed Feb. 29 through March 8

Tickets to hear journalists Ted Koppel, Mara Liasson and Eugene Robinson are required, and are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will not be available at the door the evening of the event. Specific dates have been designated for students, faculty, staff and the community to obtain their tickets.

Pulitzer Prize winner Jose Antonio Vargas set to visit Georgia Southern

Pulitzer Prize winner Jose Antonio Vargas will visit èapp to present “Immigration: Legality vs. Humanity” on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. in the University’s Performing Arts Center (PAC), 847 Plant Drive. The event is free and open to the public.

èapp Golf Course will welcome The Golf Channel Amateur Tour (Am Tour), the largest amateur golf tour in North America, to its 167-acre course in Statesboro on Sunday, Dec. 20.

Georgia Southern to host Dr. Steve Perry for annual MLK Celebration

Georgia Southern will welcome Dr. Steve Perry, founder and principal of Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut, to campus for the University’s 2016 MLK Celebration on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 847 Plant Drive, Statesboro.

Georgia Southern students to present fashion, design works during annual showcase

èapp’s Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design (FMAD) program and Fashion Menagerie, Georgia Southern’s premier fashion student organization, will host fashion designer Azede Jean-Pierre for a lecture and guest judge at the student Showcase, set for Friday, Dec. 4, in the Russell Union Ballroom.
