Celebrated political and academic leaders to address Georgia Southern Fall 2018 Commencement ceremonies

¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ announces outstanding $5 million gift to the Parker College of Business

The ¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ Foundation, Inc. received a $5 million gift, the single largest gift in University history, for the College of Business from Greg Parker, president, founder and CEO of The Parker Companies in Savannah. The University System of Georgia Board of Regents approved the name of the Gregory M. Parker College of Business at ¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ.

Georgia Southern team awarded more than $750,000 for teacher development grant

A team of ¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ professors led by College of Education’s Lacey Huffling, Ph.D., has been awarded a $763,897 grant from the Gulf Research Program of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ is sponsoring Ramsey Solutions’ Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum in five high schools in Georgia. Foundations in Personal Finance is the premier curriculum for teaching financial literacy to students.

¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ and Leopold’s Ice Cream have partnered to create True Blue ice cream, which will make its official debut at Georgia Southern’s Homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Allen E. Paulson Stadium in Statesboro. The Office of Alumni Relations will give away 2,000 cups of True Blue ice cream at the game, compliments of Leopold’s and Eagle Dining Services.

¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ and St. Joseph’s/Candler build funding partnership to address regional need for skilled nurses

¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ and St. Joseph’s/Candler are working together to develop healthcare leaders and ensure those in our region have access to quality medical care.

The University’s new Waters College of Health Professions building project on the Armstrong Campus will include the St. Joseph’s/Candler Nursing Suite thanks to a new funding partnership between the Armstrong Foundation of ¿ìèapp¶ÌÊÓ, Inc. and St. Joseph’s/Candler. The health system will donate $250,000 to the project.
