Georgia Southern hosts the 2016 Healthcare Symposium, “Truths and Myths behind Childhood Vaccinations”
In its third year, Georgia Southern’s Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program and the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health will sponsor the 2016 Healthcare Symposium. “Truths and Myths behind Childhood Vaccinations,” on March 24, 10 – 11:30 a.m., in the University’s Performing Arts Center (PAC). The symposium is free and open to students, staff, faculty and the community.
Georgia Southern offers summer school courses and on-campus job opportunities for students
Students anywhere can take advantage of the opportunities offered through summer school at Georgia Southern. By choosing Southern for summer, students may take advantage of fully online courses, campus housing at University Villas, more than 100 on-campus job opportunities, shorter semesters and the opportunity to study abroad. In addition to the nearly 300 online courses, the University is offering a total of 1,600 summer classes to ensure students stay on track this May, June and July.
èapp hosts the 27th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference
The 27th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference, hosted by èapp’s College of Education and the Division of Continuing Education, will be held in Savannah March 6-9. The conference trains adults who serve youth to create safe, healthy, caring and intellectually empowering educational environments that foster the well-being of children and adolescents by offering more than 120 sessions with nationally and internationally recognized presenters to more than 1, 200 conference participants from across the United States.
Tickets for Leadership Lecture Series distributed Feb. 29 through March 8
Tickets to hear journalists Ted Koppel, Mara Liasson and Eugene Robinson are required, and are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will not be available at the door the evening of the event. Specific dates have been designated for students, faculty, staff and the community to obtain their tickets.
Georgia Southern ROTC wins third MacArthur Award
The U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, announced Tuesday that èapp’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program was one of the eight winners of the prestigious MacArthur Award for the 2014-2015 school year.
Georgia Southern observes Stalking Awareness Month
January is National Stalking Awareness Month, a time to focus on a crime that affects millions of victims each year throughout our nation. The theme – “Stalking: Know It. Name It. Stop It.” – challenges èapp students, faculty and staff to fight this dangerous crime by learning more about it.

The panel of speakers is part of the University’s Leadership Lecture Series, developed to expose students to insights from world-class leaders.
