This group is for students to learn and practice skills on how to cope with intense emotions, both in everyday life and in a crisis. We will work through several groups of skills fundamental to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): becoming non-judgmentally aware of our thoughts and emotions in the moment, learning how to change thoughts and feelings, and decrease distress and increase healthy coping skills. This will be a skills-based group to practice both in group and outside of group meetings. This group will meet Thursdays from 3pm to 4:30pm at the Statesboro Counseling Center. All students must complete the screening process before being considered for admission into a therapy group.
