New to archery? Learn the basics of handling a bow or start your journey as an archer at the Shooting Sports Education Center. Equipment is provided for all programs.
Get the basics of bows and arrows in Archery 101. Learn how to safely handle a bow and arrow, proper technique and safety procedures at The Archery Center. Complete this course to become eligible for archery membership at the SSEC.
Discover the thrill of shooting a bow in Try Archery, part of the TRY-fecta series! With the guidance of a certified coach, learn safety practices and basic archery techniques, including opportunities to try recurve and compound bows.

Whether you’re looking for friendly competition or just a unique night out, you’ll learn the basics together with all equipment provided. Develop beginner-level archery skills with other adults in the three-week Explore Archery program! Practice fundamental archery through special individual and team activities.

Ready to take your archery skills to the next level? Explore Archery 2 is a four-week program for archers who have completed Explore Archery 1, attended an SSEC day camp, or belong to an official archery club or team. The course offers in-depth instruction on shooting form, rules, and etiquette, along with specialized games to enhance your skills.
Discover what it means to be a hunter in Pursue Bowhunting and Bowfishing! Learn ethical hunting practices, animal identification, proper camouflage, shot placement and setups required for bowhunting or bowfishing. Archers must pass Explore Archery 2 to be eligible for Pursue Bowhunting and Bowfishing.
Experience the fun of archery as a sport in Pursue Recreational Archery! Play and create fun archery-based games in this four-week program. Archers must pass Explore Archery 2 to be eligible for Pursue Recreational Archery.
Be a champ in the making through Pursue Competition Archery! Learn how to score in Target, Field and 3D competitions over a four-week program. Archers must pass Explore Archery 2 to be eligible for Pursue Competition Archery.
Put your skills to the test in a friendly, tournament-style competition! Archers will compete against students in their own class level (Explore Archery 1 vs. Explore Archery 1, etc.).
There is also a Guest Division available for archers who have already completed the Explore Archery Program. Current students will shoot from their usual class distance, while guests will shoot from 18 meters. First place male and female archers in each division will be awarded! Please be sure to register at the SSEC before the event.

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Practical
You can get the necessary tools to maintain high safety standards for archery with the in-person USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Practical. This final step prepares you to teach beginner archery programs to all ages and in multiple settings, and is required to earn your Level 1 Instructor Certification.
USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Practical
You can get the necessary tools to maintain high safety standards for archery with the in-person USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Practical. This final step prepares you to teach more advanced archery programs, introduce students to different shooting styles, and is required to earn your Level 2 Instructor Certification.
USA Archery Level 3 NTS Coach Practical
You can gain the necessary tools to coach intermediate and advanced archers with the in-person USA Archery Level 3 Practical. This final step prepares you to create and apply a coaching philosophy, better understand NTS, and realize your coaching potential. This practical is required to earn your Level 3 Coach Certification.

Zombie Shoot
Join the community for a Halloween-themed archery tournament! Take out special zombie targets in an 18-meter indoor round (kids ages 9 and under will shoot in the Yeoman division at 9 meters). The top three in each division will take home an award, along with the winner of the costume contest!

Compete for a chance to win scholarship awards in the National Archery Scholarship Tour!
Southern Fall Shootout
Take on an indoor archery challenge at two distances! Go from 25 meters to 18 meters in this classic fall tournament to prepare for state archery competitions.
Join Southern Eagles Archery in this Halloween-themed FUNdraiser event. Yeomen and Novices will shoot at 9m while all other competitors will shoot at 18m. Come out and support our local collegiate club while honing your skills for the upcoming season!
Join us for the GAA State 25 Meter Championship! This event counts for the 2026 season. All archers will shoot at 25 Meters on 60cm target faces. Georgia residents are eligible for state championship awards. Non-Georgia residents may register in a Guest division and earn medals. See you there!

Homeschool Archery
Bring archery into your homeschool curriculum at the Shooting Sports Education Center! Our Homeschool Archery program offers classes for both beginner and advanced archers, and all equipment is provided.
Students can also continue to improve their skills by joining the Homeschool League.
To ensure your students have minimal distractions, classes are held before our standard business hours. A full eight-week session costs $65 per student, with a minimum of four students. We hope to see you at the next session!
Learn the proper way to shoot a bow and arrow in our beginner Homeschool Archery class! This class teaches students the principles of shooting in a fun and safe environment, all while making life-long friends!
Ready to take your archery skills to the next level? Our Advanced Homeschool Archery program helps students sharpen their abilities and master advanced techniques. Your coach will challenge students with creative new skills, including shooting at greater distances and hitting smaller targets.
Can’t get enough of archery? Join the Homeschool Archery League! In this league, archers will test their skills in a variety of competitive formats, including target archery, field archery, and 3-D archery. Archers will also learn about goal setting, mental management, and other essential archery skills.

Private Lessons Policy
- A patron is not required to be a member to participate in private lessons.
- The patron may not sell, assign or transfer rights to the private lessons purchased to any third party without prior approval.
- Private lessons must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance of the first scheduled lesson. To receive the quantity discount for the private lessons, the lessons must be purchased at one time.
- Training sessions must be paid for in full prior to scheduling the first training session.
- Private lesson refunds will not be issued for any reason, including but not limited to relocation, illness, and or unused sessions (unused sessions can be transferred between Instructors).
- All private lessons sessions must be completed within 120 days from the date of the contract/purchase. Private lesson sessions are void after 120 days from that date have passed.
- Private lesson sessions may only be rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
- If the patron anticipates running late to a session, they should contact the instructor as soon as possible. If 15 minutes have passed and the patron has not arrived to the session, the session will be cancelled without refund.
- If a lesson is cancelled by the instructor, the instructor will notify the patron in advance to reschedule the session.
- Patrons must wear comfortable and appropriate attire, including but not limited to, clean t-shirts, shorts, tights, pants and closed toed shoes. Patrons must be completely ready for the private lesson at the time agreed upon. Failure to be prepared to train may result in a shortened session or possible cancellation of the session. Instructors can provide guidance on appropriate clothing and shoes prior to the session.
- Archery equipment and Firearm equipment must be in a good working order prior to the lesson. If a patron has an equipment malfunction, staff will attempt to fix the problem immediately, but repairs cannot exceed the time limit of the lesson. Any services to equipment may be subject to an additional fee.
