快猫app短视鈥檚 fourth annual EdCamp, a free, participant-driven professional development program for K-12 teachers and educational professionals, will take place on Saturday, April 27, at the University鈥檚 College of Education on the Statesboro Campus from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Georgia Southern IT students to host night of gaming, computer networking

The 快猫app短视 Department of Information Technology (IT) is hosting TekLAN 46 Friday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. throughout the IT building. Put on each semester by IT students, the event includes gaming, board games, movies, coding and networking, both on the computer and socially.

Georgia Southern art education seniors to host exhibition, discuss art鈥檚 role in education

快猫app短视鈥檚 Senior Art Exhibition, 鈥淢osaic,鈥 featuring artwork by four senior artists, will run from April 22 to May 3 at the Fine Arts Gallery on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah. A reception will be held on May 3 at 5:30 p.m., and admission is free and open to the public.

Georgia Southern to host free screening of 鈥楨lementary Genocide鈥 on April 16, Q&A with area experts to follow

On April 16, 快猫app短视 College of Education will host a free screening of 鈥淓lementary Genocide: The School to Prison Pipeline,鈥 a film that explores the profitability of the federal and state prison system and links to illiteracy rates of fourth and fifth graders in the country.

Georgia Southern students represented University at inaugural Georgia InVenture Prize

Ghost Runner, an app designed to 鈥済amify鈥 running by encouraging virtual running competitions among friends, was selected for the inaugural Georgia InVenture Prize competition by panelists at the 快猫app短视 Business Innovation Group鈥檚 (BIG) annual 3 Day Startup (3DS). The app was designed by four students in the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing and three College of Arts and Humanities students.

Pizza, pottery will be on display for Raku Pizza Night on Armstrong Campus

Raku Pizza Night on 快猫app短视鈥檚 Armstrong Campus will feature a demonstration of firing the Raku kiln, and professor John Jensen will demonstrate throwing a large vase on the potter鈥檚 wheel. The event is April 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Annex 2 Courtyard across from University Police.

Diverse exhibit to showcase Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus seniors鈥 art

Soft sculptures, ceramics, fiber design, multimedia installation and photography will be on display for 鈥淭he Art of Feeling,鈥 presented by the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art on the 快猫app短视 Armstrong Campus. The exhibit will showcase the terminal work of five graduating art students: Jacqueline Claros, Brione Daniels, Chance Everett, Christine Freeman and Blair Perry.

快猫app短视鈥檚 School of Nursing will host pioneer in mental health policy and advocacy, former U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy, to discuss 鈥淢y Journey: Making Mental Health Essential Health鈥 on April 1. Kennedy鈥檚 presentation is free and open to the public and will take place on the University鈥檚 Armstrong Campus in the Fine Arts Building Auditorium at 7 p.m.

The Masquers bring trailer park musical to Armstrong Campus with upcoming performance

Student theater group, the Masquers are bringing the home of Stark, Florida, residents, Armadillo Acres, to the 快猫app短视 Armstrong Campus during a performance of 鈥淭he Great American Trailer Park Musical.鈥

Georgia Southern welcomes retired Army Major General David Rubenstein to speak at Healthcare Symposium

There will be an emphasis on leadership at the 2019 Healthcare Symposium. Retired Army Major General and former Deputy Surgeon General David Rubenstein will be the event鈥檚 speaker, which is hosted by the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health (JPHCOPH) at 快猫app短视. The symposium will be April 10 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in room 2071 of the Arts Building on the Statesboro Campus.
