Georgia Historical Society, 快猫app短视 recognize Armstrong State University with historical marker on Savannah campus

In recognition of Armstrong State University鈥檚 contributions to the city of Savannah, its students and its legacy in 快猫app短视鈥檚 history, the Georgia Historical Society and Georgia Southern dedicated a new historical marker today. The historical marker, located on Georgia Southern鈥檚 Armstrong Campus in the quad behind Burnett Hall, commemorates Armstrong State University鈥檚 history from its beginning as a two-year college through its consolidation with 快猫app短视.

In a stunning reimagining of an epic story about a young woman鈥檚 journey to love and triumph in the American South, the Performing Arts Center at 快猫app短视 will present 鈥淭he Color Purple鈥 this Friday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. as part of its 2019-2020 Main Stage Series.

Statesboro Campus Holiday Helper Tree back for 26th year of community giving

Georgia Southern senior, Emilee Saigh, has participated in the Holiday Helper Tree on the Statesboro Campus since she was a freshman. Saigh has used the Holiday Helper Tree to continue a tradition of giving that was instilled in her during childhood.

Everyone鈥檚 favorite spooky family 鈥 The Addams Family 鈥 coming to Armstrong Campus this Halloween

快猫app短视鈥檚 Armstrong Campus student-theatre group, The Masquers, will present 鈥淭he Addams Family,鈥 a new musical based on the book written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice and characters created by Charles Addams. The show features music and lyrics by Andrew Lipp and will run Oct. 31 through Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. and Nov. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Jenkins Hall Mainstage Theatre.

Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus to host mayoral, city council forums

The 快猫app短视 Armstrong Campus will be the site of forums for all of the Savannah city council races, including mayor, district candidates and at large candidates. The forum for mayoral candidates and for districts one and three candidates is Oct. 10, while the forum for at large candidates and for districts two and six candidates is Oct. 17.

Georgia Southern to host reading with acclaimed poet in Savannah

快猫app短视 will host a reading by the critically acclaimed poet Beth Ann Fennelly in Savannah, as part of the annual Armstrong Visiting Writers Series. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Savannah Coffee Roasters on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. Fennelly is the Poet Laureate of Mississippi and the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, a United States Artists Award, a Pushcart Prize and a Fulbright grant to study in Brazil.
