快猫app短视 will bring the world to Statesboro during the 9th Annual International Festival on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Mill Creek Regional Park, 888 Georgia Highway 24. The annual festival, hosted by the Center for International Studies, is a celebration of culture, music, art and food from around the world. Admission to the festival is free and open to everyone.

University to Host Renowned Author Richard Louv in Sustainability Seminar

The 快猫app短视 Center for Sustainability and the Recreation and Tourism Management Program will partner to host Richard Louv, acclaimed author and journalist, in a sustainability seminar titled 鈥淭he Hybrid Mind,鈥 on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, 847 Plant Drive. Louv is the author of eight books on the connections between family, nature and the community.

Office of Alcohol & Other Drugs Programs Observes National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week

鈥淲e hope that the events of the week will motivate students to drink responsibly, set healthy limits and never drive while under the influence of alcohol,鈥 said Nicole Withers, administrative coordinator.

University to Recognize Disability Awareness Month

“Observing October as Disability Awareness Month allows Georgia Southern to recognize and celebrate the vast contributions made every day by our students with disabilities,鈥 said Mike Chamber, director of the Student Disability Resource Center. 鈥淚n doing so, we can all learn more about issues and topics related to the field of disability as well as new and exciting opportunities to better serve students with disabilities through advancements in ever-evolving assistive technologies and university-wide contributions aimed at breaking down barriers.”

The 快猫app短视 Office of Orientation and Parent Programs will host the University鈥檚 annual Fall Family Weekend in downtown Statesboro from Sept. 26 to 28. The main events include an outdoor movie, silent auction and a full day of activities.

Center for Sustainability Goes Green for GreenFest 2014

鈥淲e hope that visitors will learn that it鈥檚 easier than they might think to make green choices,鈥 said Lissa Leege, Ph.D., director of the Center for Sustainability. 鈥淲e have the technology to reduce energy and water use and can make the choice to reduce waste and eat sustainably grown food.鈥

University Gears Up for 2nd Annual STEM Fest

快猫app短视 is gearing up for its 2nd annual science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) festival this Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, 847 Plant Drive. The festival will feature presentations by the Institute for Interdisciplinary STEM Education at Georgia Southern, NASA and the U.S. Army.

University Partners with Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau to Present 鈥淢useum On Main鈥

The Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau will open in its new location at 222 South Main Street on Tuesday, Sept. 16, and a large part of the new facility will feature 鈥淢useum on Main,鈥 an exhibit highlighting significant pieces of Bulloch County and Statesboro鈥檚 history. A 1920s turpentine wagon, originally purchased from W.C. Akins & Sons Hardware on East Main Street in Statesboro, will be the iconic artifact and permanent installation of the new exhibit.

New York Times Bestselling Author to Present Fries Lecture at 快猫app短视

快猫app短视 will host Susan Orlean, The New York Times bestselling author and staff writer for the New Yorker, as the 2014 Norman Fries Distinguished Lectureship Series speaker on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, 847 Plant Drive. Her presentation titled 鈥淟earning By the Book: A Writer Explores the World of Libraries,鈥 is free and open to the public.
