What is Panorama?

is integrated into Folio course spaces and offers students alternative accessible formats to support different learning styles. These options include Audio Podcast, EPUB to use with ereader devices, Immersive Reader, Gradient Reader, Text File, Braille formats, and many more.
Panorama scans your Folio course space to provide an accessibility score for course and individual documents that include HTML, PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and GIF. Panorama will provide directions on what accessibility issues need to be resolved as well as assistance to directly within content in your Folio course space. While Panorama will help identify and remediate many accessibility issues in Folio, instructors are responsible for ensuring that all of their course content is accessible to all students.

Benefits of Panorama

Panorama enhances the learning experience for all students by providing alternative formats (like braille, audio, or HTML) while allowing instructors to fix accessibility issues directly within the LMS platform. Inline remediation detects and fixes any issues identified within the LMS to provide documents that are accessible within required standards.

Get Started with Your Georgia Southern Resources

East Georgia Campus students, faculty, and staff now have access to to a robust portfolio of technology and other resources. Keep reading to learn more about the new services available to you.

Your MyGeorgiaSouthern Portal

MyGeorgiaSouthern is your gateway to everything Georgia Southern. To retrieve your credentials and activate your account, navigate to and click the 鈥淔irst Time User鈥 button. Follow the prompts on the screen to get your user information and activate your account. 

Pro Tip: Have your smart phone available when you鈥檙e ready to complete this process so that you can enroll in Duo鈥檚 Multifactor Authentication service. Want to take a tour? Check out the 鈥淢yGS Tutorial Videos鈥 tile.

Email, Calendar, Drive

Georgia Southern is a Google partner school, which means you now have access to the G Suite of applications, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, and much more. It鈥檚 everything you need in one 鈥渟uite鈥 package. To access these services, select them in the 鈥淢yApps鈥 tile in your MyGS portal. 

Beginning May 11, 2026, all new email will be received in your Georgia Southern email account. On May 11, we’ll also begin migrating your email and OneDrive materials from your East Georgia email account, so you’ll see messages and files start to appear in your Georgia Southern account. By May 18, all of your email and OneDrive content will be migrated and you will no longer access your East Georgia email account, but you鈥檒l still need your East Georgia credentials to access services through the Summer semester.

Fall registration, which opens for select groups in March 2026, begins with a meeting with your advisor to chart your course for the semester. As a Georgia Southern student, you may have an Advisement Hold that can be cleared when you meet with your advisor. You鈥檒l receive more information about how to remove this hold via the MyGS portal, so check back often.听

While registration for Fall classes may look a little different than what you鈥檙e used to, your Academic Success Advisor is happy to help. Click the button below to reach out to your ASA for assistance.

Currently, you鈥檙e using the Brightspace D2L learning management system, accessible via the myEGSC portal, to submit course assignments, engage in class discussions, and everything else that you need in your virtual classrooms. You鈥檒l continue to utilize this resource for your Spring and Summer courses. 

Beginning Fall 2026, you鈥檒l use Folio, Georgia Southern鈥檚 virtual classroom environment, which is also powered by Brightspace D2L. The platform will look very similar to the D2L environment that you鈥檙e used to, but will be accessed via the 鈥淔olio鈥 widget in your MyGS portal.

DegreeWorks is a web-based program that provides easy access for advisors and students to track courses completed and plan for those still needed in preparation for registration and graduation. All East Georgia Campus students can access DegreeWorks via the “Advisement Resources” tile in your MyGS portal.

For the Fall 2026 term, you鈥檒l need to complete attendance verification to ensure that you鈥檙e not charged for a course you鈥檙e not taking. Attendance verification is done via a quiz in Folio. 

This is a new process for you, so don鈥檛 worry if you鈥檙e not sure how to complete it right now. You鈥檒l receive instructions on how and when to complete this process via the MyGS portal at the start of the term.

The Fall 2026 Housing Application is available. To apply to live in a residence hall on the Swainsboro Campus, complete the housing application via the 鈥淥n-Campus Housing Portal鈥 link in the 鈥淐ampus Life鈥 tile in your MyGS portal.

You may already be familiar with the MyHelp ticketing system if you鈥檝e submitted a ticket for a housing issue or a technology issue. If you鈥檝e logged in before, you probably created a guest account to submit your issue. However, you are now able to sign into MyHelp using your MyGS credentials. This will allow you to quickly submit and keep track of all your tickets in one place. 

Pro Tip: You may need to log out and log back in with your MyGS credentials.

GS Premium is Georgia Southern鈥檚 premiere wifi network, which you have access to with your new MyGS credentials. This certificate-based network ensures a faster, more reliable connection. Use the resources below to get connected.

The LiveSafe app provides two-way, real-time interactions with Public Safety that include text, calls, photos and videos. The app also provides relevant safety resources and peer-to-peer safety tools and is available as a free download for all Georgia Southern students, faculty and staff.

The Eagle Card Mobile ID is similar to the Mobile CatCard that you currently use. You can now download your Eagle Card Mobile ID via the Transact (eAccounts) app. If you’re signed in with your EGSC credentials, you may need to sign out and sign back in with Georgia Southern credentials.

Dining plans are available for East Georgia Campus students for Fall 2026. You can view, purchase or upgrade your meal plan using the “Purchase a Dining Plan” link in your MyGS portal.

Request An Integration

When instructors need to provide more functions and/or software to enhance the classroom experience that is not provided by centrally funded and supported tools, they can request the use of a new tool or third-party integration.  

New integrations must undergo a security review before implementation to identify any risks that the software or service presents to Georgia Southern before synchronizing with our learning management system.

Additionally, instructors who request a new tool must agree to test the functionality of the new software or service in a test environment before it is placed in production.

New Integration Process

The process for new integrations into Folio includes three distinct phases, which must be completed before the integration can be implemented in Folio.

  • Phase I: USG Security Assessment completed by vendor and approved by USG Security Office.
  • Phase II: Installation and configuration of the integration in the TEST Folio environment
  • Phase III: User Acceptance Testing by instructor (in TEST Folio environment)

Once these phases have been completed, the integration will be scheduled to 鈥楪o Live鈥 in the Folio production environment during the upcoming academic break between semesters.
